The British Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic is pleased to honour the dedication and services of Ambassador Andrew Garth.

Mr. Andrew Garth was appointed British Ambassador to the United Kingdom in the Slovak Republic in October 2014. In this role he represents Her Majesty The Queen and the UK government in the Slovak Republic.


Prior to the position, Mr. Garth worked as a member of the Foreign Office for over 20 years. Having been assigned on a number of Political and Commercial projects in a wide variety of countries including Thailand, China, Poland, Romania, Taiwan, South Korea, Brunei, Gambia, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Egypt, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and India, he has now taken on his first Ambassadorial role here in the Slovak Republic.


Mr Garth joined the FCO in 1988 and has since led the EU Enlargement and Pre-accession Team at the FCO and assistedBritish businesses both in the UK and Overseas. Most recently, he worked at UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) supporting efforts to encourage more firms intoexporting and increase UK business success overseas.


On his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Mr Garth has said:

 “It is an honour and privilege to be appointed as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Slovak Republic. I look forward to working with a valued EU partner, strengthening our political and economic links still further and exploring this beautiful country.”
