International law firm CMS has appointed two new partners in Slovakia in its latest round of promotions. As of 1 May, Petra Čorba Stark and Michal Huťan have become partners for Corporate/M&A and for Real estate, Energy and Infrastructure respectively. Both are based in the firm’s Bratislava office.

The double promotion, which coincides with the start of the firm’s new financial year, follows a very successful 2018. Thanks to a strong international presence in combination with an ambitious team on the ground, CMS Slovakia has been able to win mandates on some of the most exciting investments and legal cases in the country.

Petra Čorba Stark specialises in complex M&A transactions and innovative corporate restructurings. Her clients include domestic and international financial investors as well as multinational corporations. In the last twelve months she has advised on the Slovak aspects of some of the region’s largest private equity deals.In addition to M&A transactions, she also advises on regulatory issues and Public-Private-Partnerships.

Michal Huťan has an extensive experience of advising in large property transactions as well as high-end development projects. In recent years he has advised foreign investors on the largest greenfield investments into Slovakia. Michal also heads the local Energy and Infrastructure team and advises clients on transactional and regulatory issues in that sector.

These apointments are part of a wider round of partner promotions, with 51 partners being made up across CMS, including 7 in the firm’s Central and Eastern European offices.
