October 25th will remain in our memory for a long time – our patron, Jaguar Land Rover from Nitra, celebrated its fifth anniversary. We are proud that the British Chamber of Commerce, together with the management of the plant, its workers, suppliers, stakeholders, and the local community, belongs to the big “Nitrian family”. When we inaugurated this plant together with JLR representatives five years ago, we had no idea that in five years JLR would be able to produce more than 365,000 of the legendary Defender and Discovery vehicles, and the number of employees would grow from 1,500 to more than 5,000.
During an exceptional day at Jaguar Land Rover in Nitra, we had the opportunity to meet the entire management team of this successful company, we thank Mrs. Barbara Bergmeier, Executive Director Industrial Operation, Guillermo Mancholas, JLR Slovakia Executive Director, Richard Bright, Senior Plant Quality Manager for the great welcome. A special moment was the speech of Mrs. Barbara Bergmeir, who announced the fantastic news that Nitra will be the place where electric cars will be produced by the end of the decade as part of the Reimagine strategy.
Unforgettable experience was the tour of the plant, which we had the opportunity to complete with J.E. Apoorva Srivastava, Ambassador of India and H.E. Nigel Baker, UK ambassador and our honorary president. We saw the production lines from which the legends Defender and Discovery descend.
As the largest British investment, Jaguar Land Rover has our great admiration for how it positively affects employment and the economy of Slovakia as a whole. Jaguar Land Rover is one of the leaders and places great emphasis on the social pillar of its business. It provides its more than 5,000 employees possibility for the further development, supports their education, contributes to the development of vocational schools in the region, supports local communities, and creates favorable conditions for the integration of its employees from abroad. On the occasion of five years since the opening of the Jaguar Land Rover plant in Nitra, the new Health and Well-Being Center was also inaugurated, which is to serve its 5,000 employees, as well as more than 2,000 other employees of suppliers working at the plant.

25. október ostane dlho zapísaný v našej pamäti – náš patrón, nitriansky Jaguar Land Rover oslávil piate výročie svojho pôsobia. Sme hrdí na to, že Britská obchodná komora patrí spolu s manažmentom závodu, jeho pracovníkmi, dodávateľmi, stakeholderami, miestnou komunitou do veľkej „nitrianskej rodiny“. Keď sme spoločne s predstaviteľmi JLR pred piatimi rokmi slávnostne tento závod otvárali, ešte sme netušili, že za päť rokov sa podarí JLR vyprodukovať viac ako 365-tisíc legendárnych vozidiel Defender a Discovery a počet zamestnancov narastie z 1500 na viac ako 5-tisíc.
Počas výnimočného dňa v nitrianskom Jaguar Land Rover sme mali možnosť stretnúť sa s celým manažment tímom tejto úspešnej firmy, ďakujeme za skvelé privítanie pani Barbare Bergmeier, Executive Director Industrial Operation, Guillermo Mancholas, JLR Slovakia Executive Director, Richard Bright, Senior Plant Quality Manager. Špeciálnym momentom bol príhovor pani Barbary Bergmeir, ktorá oznámila fantastickú správu, že Nitra bude miestom, kde sa budú vyrábať do konca desaťročia elektromobily v rámci stratégie Reimagine.
Čerešničkou na torte bola prehliadka závodu, ktorú sme mali možnosť absolvovať s J.E. Apoorva Srivastava, veľvyslankyňou Indie a J.E. Nigelom Bakerom, veľvyslancom UK a našim čestným prezidentom. Videli sme výrobné linky, z ktorých schádzajú legendy Defender a Discovery.
Jaguar Land Rover ako najväčšia britská investícia má náš veľký obdiv za to, ako pozitívne ovplyvňuje zamestnanosť a ekonomiku celého Slovenska. Jaguar Land Rover patrí k lídrom a kladie veľký dôraz na sociálny pilier svojho podnikania. Svojim viac ako 5-tisíc zamestnancov poskytuje veľký priestor na rozvoj, podporuje ich vzdelávanie, prispieva k rozvoju odborných škôl v regióne, podporuje miestne komunity, vytvára priaznivé podmienky na integráciu svojich zamestnancov zo zahraničia. Pri príležitosti piatich rokov od otvorenia závodu Jaguar Land Rover v Nitre bolo slávnostne otvorené aj nové Centrum zdravia a pohody, ktoré má slúžiť jeho 5-tisíc zamestnancom, ako aj ďalším viac ako 2-tisíc zamestnancom dodávateľov pracujúcim v závode.
Sme veľmi hrdí na skvelý príbeh, ktorý píše táto automobilka a želáme úspešnú „elektrickú“ budúcnosť!
